What Am I Doing?

This is not the first blog that I’ve authored. Every so often I get the desire to put my ideas out there and it usually fizzles when life gets busy. My goal for this blog…it’s purpose…is to act as a journal. Something that people can visit if they so desire, but that’s not really the objective here. The objective to get more comfortable with written prose. Putting ideas to paper isn’t something new to me…I’ve often kept journals in the past. Little paper things to capture thoughts, prayers, frustrations, and even practiced calligraphy in a few…I had a thing for fountain pens years ago.

There are quite a few things that are very important to me…things that I’d like to start talking about more. Here’s a list of just a few that will likely earn their own posts throughout the journey that is this blog.

  • My partner, Kelsey, is honestly the coolest fucking person I know. She is a rock solid individual and fears nothing. I don’t think I’d be where I’m at today without her by my side.
  • My two kids, S and H. They really challenge me each day to seek the fun and dive into the ‘new’. Everything is so novel to them at this age (8 and 5 respectively).
  • My dog and cat. Our dog, Gracie, we adopted in the 3rd year of our marriage. She is a loyal pupper and probably the best member of the family. The cat is new…his name is Earl…he’s still earning his place, but looks damn cute doing it.
  • Hobbies such as board games, video games, coding, reading, hiking, and all things that grow from dirt. One of my goals in the near future is to get a few more “physically active” hobbies to counter the ones where I’m sitting on my ass the whole time.
  • SAP…while it’s not really a hobby, it is something that I’m quite passionate about and I’ve worked with for the past 17 years (10 of those as a systems analyst). To say that I know my stuff is an understatement when it comes to Production Planning, Warehouse Management, MES Interfaces, and everything in between. Don’t be surprised if I go off on a tangent or rant about this ERP system.
  • Humanism. It’s a fairly new philosophy to me. Leaving Christianity in the past 5 years has allowed me to open my mind up to some new ways of thinking as well as dive deeper into what it means to be human…our purpose, how to love, and why does anything fucking matter.

Here’s a picture of Kelsey and I…she’s a hottie that never seems to age. Pretty sure there is a portrait of her somewhere in the attic.

Hammocks are amazing devices.

Well, it’s almost 10pm on a workday…so I’m gonna wrap this up. I look forward to making frequent updates to this damn site…so feel free to leave a comment or ping me on the contact page.
